[Guest Post] Myth Busters: Educational & Fun

Mitch Osborne gives us his thoughts on MythBsuters…

I was watching the show Myth Busters the other day and realized that the television station that hosts it is educational. The show appears regularly on the discovery channel and I find that to be very interesting. I watch the show because it is funny and they test the myths that we all wonder whether they are true. I suppose this show belongs on an education channel because they do deal with the scientific aspects of myths as well as the history behind them.

The other day I turned on the DIRECT TV and my favorite episode was on the Discovery channel. It was the episode where they test who has the highest pain tolerance of all. They first determine whether men or women have higher pain tolerances. Believe it or not the women can actually handle more than the men. What was more surprising is that redheads have the highest tolerance of them all. Being a redhead myself I was very happy to share this bit of information I learned with just about everyone I know. The Discovery channel is where I turn to for the truth on old fables.

I love Myth Busters! It’s actually one of the few shows which my hubster and I can watch together (i.e. not sports and not reality TV). I once saw one of the Myth guys in a noodle shop and I was totally starstruck – funny!!

I love that show! Sadly, I don’t watch it often as I have untimely timing when it comes to watching shows (I always catch them when the show is halfway, or about to finish), but I watch it whenever I see it on.

That’s a pretty interesting fact about women! Though, you would think so because we’re the ones that ultimately have to give birth, not men. I would imagine that’s the most excruciating pain you’d ever feel.
