Extending the Reach of Our Network…. Thoughts?

May 11, 2011
extending-the-reach-of-our-network-thoughts

For those who have visited our home, they know that we have several computers all throughout the house. Each computer has the capability of connecting to our wireless network and as a result we needed to purchase some indoor antennas to extend the signal strength of the network.

For the most part this worked wonderfully, but we do still have signal issues in some places in the house. It’s a little bit frustrating when I’m trying to access something on my phone and it takes forever to load because it’s loading over the wireless network. Short of antennas does anyone know what other options we can explore?

This would help so much, especially if we’re outside and need to look something up, especially while we’re putting in the garden. Any thoughts suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated. We’d like to explore every option if possible.

You’re in luck!! Or…might be anyways lol. I am taking a Networking class this term and I might be able to find out some info for you :) Other then that, sorry to say, I don’t know much about it right now lol. My advice, as always, would be to check with google. I’m sure something on there can help you out, or maybe someone will comment and hook you up!!

Our place is so tiny the only problems we have stem from the fact that our router just plain sucks and sometimes kicks us off because it hates us. :/

We have 3 routers in our house and we have a low signal outside still. I can ask andrew about it since hes constantly complaining about it and knows everything there is to know about networks and computers. All I know is we dont have the money right now to do what he wants to do to fix the problem. I’ll ask him.
