It’s time to reveal the results for the winner of the Season 1 True Blood giveaway. I want to extend my thanks to all of you for entering and encourage you to check back often as I will continue to have many giveaways some big and some small!
So without further ado…

Jul 18, 2011
I know I have this nasty habit of disappearing for lengths of time and the only updates I post are paid blogs which understandably a lot of people are turned off from and as a result I tend to lose the interest of even my semi-casual readers Well now that school is finally over I figured it’s time to really put some effort into taking care of my blog and networking. When I was younger I used to be so good at it and now–well now I’m lazy and hardly return comments, though I do appreciate every one I get.
Anyway, to kick off this new desire to try and actually care about my blog, form a reader base, and hopefully find some awesome bloggers that I can relate to and get to know, I am holding TQB’s second ever giveaway!
As many of those who actually keep up with me know, I have a slight, okay HUGE obsession with True Blood and it pretty much dominates a small portion of my life. For those who have not yet watched or were turned off by the first episode, I admit that I was too. After the episode was over I had a WTF expression on my face and decided to read the books to make sure the director had not in fact gone crazy and that helped me to really appreciate the show and understand it in its entirety. All I can say is give it a chance– it might surprise you.

I have to say that I was quite surprised at the amount of individuals who participated in the contest and hope that Tawni will be willing to have another giveaway sometime in the future. In any event I want to thank all of you who did participate but sadly there can only be one winner.
The winner of a custom WordPress theme designed by Tawni of Forever Design Studio is….. (more…)

Sep 2, 2010
When it comes to WordPress themes and the overall design of the site, I’m sure most of you have noticed I do not do it myself. A large part of that is that I’m too lazy to relearn CSS and it’s just easier time wise to have someone else do it for me. Plus, on top of that if I’m honest, when it comes to creativity and design, the muse hasn’t been with me for some time so really any attempt to design my own theme would result in mass hysteria1. As a result, I often utilize the services of my dear friend Tawni, who is the owner and founder of ForeverDesignStudio.com. Simply put, in my opinion, her designs are AMAZING. The creativity she has is not something that I could properly capture in words so I won’t even bother to try, but don’t just take my word for it– go visit her website and see what I’m talking about!
As of late, Tawni has been looking for more ways to drive in potential customers and so I suggested that she open an Etsy shop and also suggested that a giveaway would be something that could be beneficial as well. Lucky me (and you) that she decided to allow me to host one on her behalf! Read below for more information on how you can win an absolutely stunning theme from ForeverDesignStudio!
Giveaway Details
As I stated previously, Tawni of ForeverDesignStudio is graciously offering her services to one lucky winner, however stipulations do apply. For any themes which the winner decides they want illustrations, vectors, or plugin customization such as galleries, commerce carts, etc Tawni may assess a fee as she considers those particular items as “specialty” services. For all other simple designs (my current theme is an example), services will be rendered free to the winner.

We had a few set backs with Trouble when we got him, but it wasn’t because he’s a bad dog, rather Diesel wasn’t quite ready to accept him into the pack. She was very tense around him and just wasn’t sure what to do. Part of the problem is she is not used to a dog that doesn’t take her shit (she’s a bully) so that’s why she was so leery around him. We took them out to the field to run and play and that really seemed to work in their bonding. Now they’re fine and have a great time with each other and they’re just fun to be around.
The only real issue we have with Trouble is that he wasn’t raised with cats so he doesn’t know that he shouldn’t go after them. When we took Moki and him to the vet on Saturday he snapped at her and we had to run back and get the training collar so he’d stop being so fixated. That worked and he calmed down and we have used it today to train him not to go after the cats. He’s picking up on it well and I think he’ll be fine once he’s here awhile longer but other than that he’s a really good dog.
On a brighter note when we first brought him home his paws were really bad. They were so swollen and it just looked to us painful to walk on. We’ve been giving him his meds daily and we think that his previous owners thought they were being successful when they were putting the pills in his food, which wasn’t really the case. We’ve been using peanut butter and treats to coax him to eating his pills and as a result we think it’s really helped in improving his paws and his skin. When we took him to the vet on Saturday she said he’s pretty young and she believes that his allergies could be because of the food he’s eating. The only way to find out is by changing out his food and seeing if it does any good for him. Hopefully it is food allergies because it really sucks having to give him so many meds, plus our vet thinks he needs to go on steroids to help with the inflammation on his paws, so that’s yet more meds to have to administrator. I feel so bad for him. Poor dog.
Anyway, it’s time to announce the winner of TBQ’s first ever giveaway! I assigned everyone numbers and used Random.org to randomly pick numbers. The number assignments were based on the comments posted. So for instance the first individual who entered was assigned the number one and for each entry after that two, three, and so on and so forth. Therefore after running the randomizer the results were as follows:
And the winner is…

Keeping with my daily blogging, I give you Friday Five (among other things
)! I have to admit though that I’m a bit bummed I missed last week’s because I think it had more interesting questions, but I suppose this will have to do. I apologize if my answers aren’t very intriguing. The questions to me were kind of blah.
- What is your favorite red food?
- When were you last caught red-handed?
- What’s your nicest red article of clothing?
- Who’s got the loveliest red hair?
- What are your thoughts on the 2002 Baz Luhrmann film Moulin Rouge!?
1. My favorite red food– that’s a bit difficult, assuming it actually has to be red, red and not red, like in red meat. I’m not a huge fan of apples and therefore, I can’t say that and I really can’t think of anything else other than red meat that would effectively access this question.
2. Oh wow, that’s an interesting question. I’m not sure! I haven’t lived at home for so long that being caught red handed isn’t something that I’ve had to worry about.
3. My nicest red article of clothing is probably my tube top shirt. I love it a lot because it’s quite classy and very comfortable as well.
4. I’d have to say that I think Addison from Private Practice has really nice red hair. It’s so vibrant and red. I love it.
5. Moulin Rouge was okay for me. I didn’t think it was OMG amazing, but it did have it’s moments.
Giveaway
As many of you know, I have been trying to figure out what exactly it is I’d like to give away from TQB’s first giveaway. After a lot of thought and suggestions from those around me, I’ve finally come to a decision. A large part of my decision is my realization as to how little this particular activity occurs in this day and age, unless forced by the educational body, I thought it only fitting to promote what I feel deserves a little more time from all of us, particularly the younger generation. In any event, I do hope that you all enjoy this giveaway and should you have any suggestions (within reason- $10-$20) as to what you’d like to be seen given away in the future, please feel free to suggest them.
