Proclamation #00001: Boost Nutritional Energy Drink

Hear ye, hear ye!

The following proclamation has been issued in conjunction with Proclamation #20332 of the Mandates of the Queen. Any objections, comments or suggestions can be submitted using the form below.

For those who follow my blog, last week I made a decision to change my lifestyle and make a serious attempt to gain weight. I have always struggled with weight gain, due to a very high metabolism and genetics, despite how poorly I eat.

Such was the case, that as a child my father resulted to giving my sisters and I weight gain supplements in an attempt to help us grow which failed miserably. Even so, despite the difficulty I have, I really wanted to give it a shot, as I found that I tend to given up before I even begin and I know that being underweight will not help in our flight to have children.

I happened to post on my Facebook about the changes we were making and my sister suggested Boost which is a nutritional energy drink that comes in various different types that fit your particular need: Boost Original, Boost Plus, Boost High Protein, Boost Kid Essentials, Boost Glucose Control, and Boost Calorie Smart. I actually ended up trying the original Boost, the high protein Boost, and Boost Plus.

Now, I’ll be honest and say that I honestly never expected to like the product. Growing up, every product that was forced down my mouth whether it was in powdered form or liquid form made me cringe and I honestly didn’t expect anything different.

Perhaps my prejudices effected my opinion, given that I expected it to taste like ass but found instead that Boost is actually a delicious treat. It comes in three flavors, Vanilla, Strawberry, and Chocolate. Sticking to the basics I picked Vanilla and was really surprised at how much it actually tastes like Vanilla and not the powdery/liquid crap that many companies try and pass off as Vanilla1. Now Boost has one flaw that you should be aware of, depending on the individual it can be too sweet. I happen to have the world’s biggest sweet tooth so this doesn’t bother me. I also imagine that Boost would make an very tasty milkshake, though I still have yet to try it.

One of the aspects I really loved about Boost, is how affordable it actually is. I believe we paid about $9 for a pack of six bottles and around $15 for a pack of twelve bottles– though this does depend on the type you get. These prices were prices from Wal-Mart but they average around $1.25-$1.50 a bottle which really isn’t that bad.

Overall, given my preconceived notions of protein/weight gain drinks and products, I have to say that Boost rates quite high in my book– plus it helps that I have actually gained weight since I’ve started drinking it, though several factors other than Boost comes into play on that front.

Either way, if you’re looking to put on weight, whether if it’s because you struggle with weight gain the way I do or if you’re trying to convert fat into muscle, I definitely recommend Boost if you can’t stand the other powdery/liquid stuff on the market.
