Old Favorite, New Love

Feb 21, 2011
old-favorite-new-love

I have always been a huge fan of Nathan Fillion. There’s just something about his on screen presence that has always touched me. His characters often play the cocky confident, bad boys with a bit of soul and I guess I like that (Hi Dean!). In any event, I finally decided to check out the show Castle to see what it had to offer.

Castle Anyone who knows me knows I’m pretty particular about my shows. I have to invest in the characters, to relate on some level and feel the authenticity through the screen. Castle is my new love. I teared up like a little baby over a sweet gesture and a mother’s concern1 and that’s what I need from my shows. There has to be some type of connection, enough to make me whimper on the days when I’m a little too over-emotional.

In any event, after obsessively watching the show over the past few days2 I have caught up and now have yet another show to lose myself in. Course that doesn’t change the sadness in my heart over the last season of Supernatural but I guess this will tide me over for a bit.

  1. Admittedly that has to do with the hormones. Stupid PMS.
  2. Much to Robby’s annoyance. I tend to pound through shows I like rather quickly.

Another Boring Blog But Within The Decree Limits

Jun 13, 2010
another-boring-blog-but-within-the-decree-limits

I should actually be writing a paper right now, but I decided that was boring and felt my talents were better spent on a blog. Clearly I know how to prioritize.

As much as I want to talk about the season premiere of True Blood, out of kindness for those who weren’t able to watch it tonight because they’re not as cool as me, I won’t. However, I will say that the Queen was pleased with the nakedness of her Prince, I was however, not pleased with the reason he was naked so I shall be dispatching a guard to take care of my little problem.

On a more serious matter, last night’s chat with the girls from Ecstasy was fantastic1 and it saddens me deeply that we shall not have another for more than a month. However, given the condition of several of the participants this morning, this is probably a good thing but I won’t get into it because you had to be there2.

On a second note, my theory about my problems sleeping was proved correct on Saturday when I successfully arose at 5 in the morning and took the dogs for an hour long walk. No, you didn’t misread, I did say an hour. It was actually quite liberating if I’m honest. It felt purely divine being up that early before the first stirrings of the world and it did wonders for the dogs temperament throughout the day.

Now, that I have successfully managed to avoid my paper for as long as possible, I suppose I should probably get back to it. You know considering I’m a Queen and I, I should really have someone write this for me.

*Adds on list of things to do: Find servant to write papers for me.*

1. Mostly because I was there.
2. No, seriously. What happens in Ecstasy chat, stays in Ecstasy chat. Okay, maybe not always.

So the story goes on down a less traveled road; it’s a variation on the one I was told.

so-the-story-goes-on-down-a-less-traveled-road-its-a-variation-on-the-one-i-was-told

It appears my attempt to continue to blog daily was foiled even before it began. I blame it mostly on Robby and my newest obsession (thanks to him) “Inuyasha“. It’s this Anime he’s got me hooked on that’s about a half demon, half human who wants to become a full demon using the power of a sacred jewel. Problem is the jewel was shattered into a million (if not more) pieces by a girl named Kagome, who is from the future. I’m absolutely addicted to the show and have managed to form a little crush on Inuyasha. I think it’s that whole assholish attitude though beneath he’s nothing but a teddy bear appeal that’s gotten to me. I have no idea why I find those type so attractive.

In other news, this weekend we’ll be heading out to San Diego for 5 days and I am completely thrilled. It’ll be good to see Vala and my friend Joe again because I haven’t seen either of them in forever and I’m looking forward to catching up. Plus, it will just be good to get out of Arizona for awhile and take a break from work. Speaking of work, I’m trying to see if I can switch over to e-mail permanently because I liked it much better then the phone. Plus, I prefer working the later hours, but I don’t think I’ll be switching any time soon, given that we’re able to hit our busy season and I’m sure they’ll need as many people on the phone as possible. I’m really not looking forward to it and if I seem even bitchier then normal, it’s because my bitterness has increased 50 fold. Oh well, such is life.

I’ve been playing a lot of Aion and am currently working on leveling 4 toons. What’s funny is the second toon I decided to level was a Gladiator who I fell in love with and as a result is making me hate my ranger, because of the slow class maturation rate. I do still plan on leveling her, but until she gets into the 20s, I think it’s going to be uber painful. :tears: Right now, I have a level 17 Ranger, 2 level 14 Gladiators, and 1 level 10 Priest. I also have a level 11 mage, but I don’t plan on leveling her any further because I find that I don’t really like the class. I know I’m strange. They’re just not for me. :shrugs:

A few posts back I had mentioned my mother possibly coming to live with us. That’s still a possibility but when she arrived back to her place of residence and I called her to try and get the ball rolling she told me she would call me when she was ready and I haven’t heard from her since. My sister just texted me asking when I planned on picking her up and I replied saying I would when she called to say she was ready. My sister then responded by telling me that my mom was hesitating (duh) and that I should plan on going there on a Thursday, going to see her PO so I could give her my address, and then whisk my mom back to Arizona. I responded by asking her how my mother felt about all this and that I wasn’t entirely comfortable having her stay with us if that’s not what she wanted. Yes, it’ll be the best thing for her, but at the same time she needs to have a say, it is her life. I still haven’t gotten a response. I don’t want her to think I’m trying to get out of it because I’m not, but I just don’t feel right going to get my mother if she’s not ready. I feel like I’d be kidnapping her. Maybe I’m just being silly.

Well, I’m off to go start on the homework that I should have turned in yesterday but didn’t. I swear I’m getting lazier and lazier– this does not bode well. Maybe I should take a 2 week break between this class and the next until I get my head on straight. :sigh:

Oops! Almost missed the train.

Sep 28, 2009
oops-almost-missed-the-train

Well this is certainly a close post! I got caught up watching House, Lie to Me, and InuYasha which is why I am blogging so late in the day…er night. I really enjoyed the House episode tonight. I loved that they pulled him away from the hospital and added a different dynamic to him. I also felt that it really emphasized how shitty the place is without him– and I’m not too heartbroken about the split of the crew, as I was honestly never thrilled with the new cast. I thought Amber was a good candidate but then that didn’t happen, probably because she was too much like House, so it’ll be interesting to see which way they take the show.

Lie to Me’s season premiere was good. I was pleased with it and quite uncertain with the direction it is heading. Regardless it was a good season opening and I have to wonder what direction they plan on taking the show this season. I still need to purchase season 1 which I will when the price drops.

Alright I’m off to play Aion now that the servers are back up. 2 more days until the end of Project: Blog– I still can’t believe I made it this time!

You’re barely waking & I’m tangled up in you.

youre-barely-waking-im-tangled-up-in-you

I’m writing this now while work is slow because I know once I get started on Aion, I’m not going to want to stop. I was able to finish my homework that was due today, last night so I have nothing keeping me from stopping, other then food and drinks, which I’ve already stocked up on. :lmao: This is so going to be kickass, I can feel it. *nods*

I hate working Sundays because they’re always slow in the morning/mid-afternoon and then it tends to pick up around 1:30-2:00, EST, once the church goers have come home from lunch. It’s nice in a way because I get downtime in the morning and then the rest of my shift flies, but it also sucks because the mornings tend to drag. Right now I’m trying to get Saturday/Sundays off by doing a permanent shift swap, but we’ll see if that’ll happen. One can hope. ;)

Tomorrow is the season premiere of House and Robby and I are looking forward to it. It’s nice to have our shows back even if it means no True Blood, but I plan on buying the second season so I can marathon it with Robby one night. I’m sure he’ll be thrilled to see my infatuation with Alex/Eric. :giggle: He thinks I’m so silly with my man-crushes. Alright, I suppose I’ll end this hear and do something product, like twiddle my thumbs. Just kidding. ;)

I worry that I won’t see your face light up again

Sep 18, 2009
i-worry-that-i-wont-see-your-face-light-up-again

Finally catching up with SYTYCD and can I just say I am super excited that they put someone with a hearing impairment through?! Seriously, I was rooting for her so much and was so happy she made it to Vegas. I think it would be awesome if she gets into the top 20, though I know how tough and rigorous Las Vegas week can be, so I worry she won’t. I suppose I’ll find out eventually.

I watched Supernatural last night and I have to say that I am happy with the direction they’re taking the show. The brothers have been out of touch for so long that it just seemed feasible for them to take time off from each other so they could find a way to reconnect again. I miss Dean/Sam in the old days, so I’m hoping this will bring them back. I doubt they’ll be separated for very long, but hopefully it’s at least 3 episodes to establish themselves separately and get Sam back on track. I’m not going to lie when I say I’m tired of the “evil, woe is me” Sam. Half the time I’m think to myself, get over it Sam. Be a man and suck it up.

Today I watched Vampire Diaries to see if maybe it would get better. It hasn’t. Not at all. Though I’m not really surprised, as the premise of the books, as less from the synopsis I’ve read prevents it from actually being a good TV show. Who knows maybe it will turn around– though I doubt it. It just seems so fake and is far too teeny bopper for me. I literally shudder at certain points within the episode where the acting was just ew. :lmao: It also makes me said that Ian decided to take such a craptacular role, but hey to each his own?

Today was pre-select for Aion and I did manage to get one at least one of the names I wanted for my toons. I’m going to remake her on the 20th when headstart launches because I’m afraid if I delete her now I’ll end up losing the name to someone who’s just now making their character. I’d be beyond upset if that was the case. I also managed to get Robby both his toon names and Danika one of her toon names and her runner up name. It’s better then nothing in my eyes. ;)

Alright, I’m off to go watch Supernatural with Robby. I’m trying to catch him up because he’s way behind. In the meantime, go check out Ecstasy MB! ;)
