As a younger girl, I had a– well I wouldn’t necessarily call it an overactive imagination, but maybe a grandiose one or a naive one, take your pick. In any event I used to believe that certain things, objects, etc indicated the status of a person. By status, I mean rich, middle class, poor, etc. I know it was a silly notion but I guess I grew up believing in what the television portrayed and as a result, my version of reality was a bit off kilter1 then most.
In any event as a result of my screwed up view of reality, I also wanted my own chandelier, because I felt that chandeliers signified being rich. I know it’s a crazy notion and an unrealistic one at that, but every time I saw a chandelier it was in some nice, fancy, smancy house and that’s why I just assumed that it was what rich people owned. Of course, now I’m a little more realistic and realize that’s not the case at all and more importantly I realize that chandeliers are actually pretty tacky– well at least the one’s I’ve run across anyway!
1. Okay, so I’m still a bit off kilter now– but that’s beside the point.
I am EXHAUSTED. Last night we bug bombed the house because I was tired of the flies in the house (they’re a nuisance in the summer) and so I had to wrangle 5 cats into the garage which is no easy feat. Particularly when we have a cat that is completely anti-social and will not let anyone get near her. After a few chases around the furniture, I was finally have to corner her under the recliner and pull her out by the scruff of the neck and put her in the cat carrier. She was not pleased AT all and I was bummed because I’d finally gotten to the point where she no longer ran when I came near and allowed me to pet and kiss her when she was laying on her bed. So yeah all that work and weeks of getting her to trust me went out the door in a single moment, lovely right?
Well after we got the cats into the garage and the ferret cage in there as well, the dogs were put into the back and we had to vacate the premises for 4 hours. We ended up going to Target to check out the FlipHD camera because I figured it’s about time I actually start utilizing iMovie on my Mac as that is one of the reasons I purchased it. After checking out the camera we picked up a copy of Alice in Wonderland in Blu Ray for $12.99 because we had a spiffy $10 off coupon thanks to Jenn. I also snagged a copy of Sims Ambitions because it was $10.00 off as well and now that I don’t have as much time to kill when playing the game and waiting for them to get home from work (yes, I know I can fast forward but still), I will actually play it now. I’m pretty stoked.
After that we went to Red Lobster because I was craving crab and then to WalMart as we still had some time to burn. Finally we headed home around 10 and got home about 10:30. We moved all the cats back into the house and left the ferrets in the garage because I needed to clean the cage today and figured it was just easier to leave them there then have to drag the cage back downstairs. Dogs came in and we crashed around 11, except I couldn’t sleep so I didn’t actually go to bed until about 1 and then was awoken ever so occasionally by Squishy who decided to jump on the bed and growl at Moki who was sleeping next to me.
My alarm went off at 5 and I got up and took the dogs on an hour+ walk, got home cleaned the ferret cage which took about 10-15 minutes and another 10-15 minutes to reassemble it and in less than 2 hours I have to work for four hours.
I pretty much just want to die. Someone do the honors?
Contrary to what some people might think (that live on the West) Arizona does get cold during the winter. In fact it gets excruciatingly cold (stfu East Coasters, I’m not talking about you). As a result when Robby and I first moved into our house he really wanted to get an outdoor fireplace as means to provide heat while he was outside, especially when he was using the grill. Sadly, we’re not rich so an outdoor fireplace was out of the question (unless of course someone wants to donate their life savings to us) and we had to look at different alternatives.
As a result we decided to settled on a $50 fire pit from WalMart. Sure, it’s not a fireplace, and while it may not be the greatest thing in the world, it does what it needs to do which is provide heat which is especially important when the dogs are outside because they don’t have really thick fur. I’d like to say that eventually we’ll end up investing in one and putting one in the back, but I’m realistic. Paris Hilton is never going to give me that 2 million that I want need, so I guess we’ll just make do with what we have. No one said I had to be happy about it though!
When Robby and I decided to use the loft as our main entertainment room, a lot of aspects had to be considered. First and foremost what type of equipment we wanted in the loft, such as what console what type of home theater system, etc, etc. The most important aspect we had to consider was home theater seating. The reason being is because we needed to properly utilize the space and ensure that we were able to achieve the most out of the space.
I’m still not 100% content with our current set up, but it does have it’s advantage and given the dimensions of the room, I don’t think we would have been able to successfully changed our set up without really compromising the space in the room. Do you have an entertainment room in your dwelling? If so, what did you do to optimize the space and ensure that it fulfilled your every need?
Yeah, my cats are just as bad as my dogs, if not worse, since they like to chase each other over the furniture. Ignore my little outbursts of saying hi to them, lol. It’s habit. =]

Long disastrous night.
On a side note, you’re now able to do video comments so feel free to as I would love them!
1. I actually did make Robby bacon and eggs this morning. I do know how to make other things but we were out of eggs yesterday!
2. Blinds are going to run us 700ish dollars =( — does anyone want to donate to Angel’s broke, but needs blinds fund?
I decided to switch back to the @Reply plugin as it seems those who commented where in favor of the @Reply and those in favor of the nested didn’t say a word in its defense, lol. I am still slowly getting the hang of CSS, though I think part of my problem is my creative juices have been sucked dry so it’s hard for me to think of how I want something styled and I just get frustrated and want to quit. On top of that it’s been pushed to the back burner until I finish my class. 2 more weeks left and I am free. On the upside my freak out on my previous post about turning in the wrong assignment, proved to be unnecessary as I still managed to keep my high C despite having posted it in the wrong format. In addition, Robby has been helping me a lot to make sure I pass and as long as I do well on this week’s assignments, I don’t think I will be as concerned about my final. Even still, I’m not done holding my breath until the case is over and I receive my final grade.
The other night when Robby and I were having sex, I actually put some effort into it and was so tired afterward. Thinking about it I realized just how lazy I had gotten with sex, lol. Before I would do things that would exhaust me and give him a break, for instance we’d do reverse cowgirl, but now I find I tend to favor positions where I have to do as little work as possible (doggie style, cowgirl, etc) and he’s responsible for doing all the thrusting. Now when I think about it that’s not far to him so I am going to try and make more of a conscious effort to spread the work equally. Wow, did I really just refer to sex as work? Lol. But in all seriousness, it really is unfair to me to expect him to do all the hard labor (so to speak) while I get a free walk in the part. Thinking on your sex life (especially for those in long term relationships), are there habits that you’ve picked up over the years which have changed the way you have sex?
I am finally getting back into the internet swing and bringing Ecstasy back up to where it used to be. I will admit that the past few months I have let the boards way to the wayside and if it wasn’t for Rochelle and her vigilance in keeping the boards running, I’d probably be on the verge of closing it (again, lol). I am grateful though that we have a great group of gals and guys that continue to visit each day and make it our little getaway from the stresses of real life. It’s nice to have a place I can run to whenever I just need to rant, vent or bitch about things going on in my life. It’s a relief to have that; it really is.
The work front, is slowly getting better. I say slowly because I’m still pretty angry about the whole hours thing. I did manage to recoup 6 of my lost hours so rather than working 21.5 hours a week, I am up to 27.5 hours and am usually able to pick up some shifts at night as chat coach. It’s still not even though because ideally I want to be at 40 hours, however the job search hasn’t produced any great results. It’s funny that whenever I’m not looking for a job, they’re everywhere to be found and yet when I am, I don’t even get a nibble. It’s so frustrating and there are days when I just want to pull my hair out. I hope, that the universe is just telling me I have to be patient and then something will come along that will work, but I’m a pessimist at heart, so that outlook never really suited me, lol.
I am also glad that I have such an amazing supervisor who stands up for me though. When I left for the my trip to San Diego, I had sent an e-mail saying I would cut my hours (I figured I could jump and all), well I received on e-mail on Monday, February 15th, saying these were my new hours and they were effective today. I ignored it as I had already made arrangements with her that I would not be in town and had my shifts covered and she approved my request to have my new shift begin Feb 22. Turns out she didn’t bother confirming this and when my sup tried to put in my request for my shifts to be changed she was advised they couldn’t approve it because those weren’t my hours. She had me forward the e-mail that said I could start my new schedule on the 22nd and told me told that the same girl who said I could wait to start my schedule, had told her she never said any such thing. WTF?! Seriously. Obviously she stood up for me and said that I would never do something like that and put the ticket on hold as they were attempting to code me as no call, no show– which meant I would have lost my job. So glad I have her on my side, lol.
Last weekend, Robby and I became the proud owners of two cute ferrets named Gucci and Jeezy, though I’ve taken to referring to them as Nibbler (Robby calls him Grouchy) and Cuddler. They are the sweetest things ever and we are so fortunate to have found them. Especially given the crap we had to go through with a crappy owner on Craigslist. We received an e-mail from someone who actually loves and cares about her pets, after I posted the following about crappy owner guy…
