Weekly Wrap Up

Aug 28, 2011
weekly-wrap-up

This entire week I have been pretty much MIA. Work was insane, more than usually and the last thing I wanted to do after working all day is remain on the computer. Instead, I’m likely to quickly check e-mail and then hop off and cuddle with Robby before falling asleep and then rinse and repeat. I know my life is so exciting right? You don’t have to flatter me– I recognize my life is actually quite sad, I’ve accepted that and embraced it, lol.

I got good news this month coupled with some bad news. We’ll start with the bad news only because it’s polite1 to follow bad news with good news so…

The car died on us. We don’t know what’s wrong with it, just that the engine died in the drive thru and when Robby took it over to O’Riley’s to have the battery tested it was bad so he replaced it and then set up an appointment to take the car in the following morning. Well the next morning on his way there the car died again and he had to call a tow truck to tow him the rest of the way. They need to examine it and then let us know if our warranty covers it. We’re hoping it does because we really don’t want to chuck out hundreds of dollars to get it fixed so I guess we’ll have to see.

On to the good news! I ovulated– not that I had problems with it, well not officially but it was a concern because we’ve been having unprotected sex for years and haven’t gotten pregnant so that alleviated some of my fears. We’ll just have to go from here and see how this pans out. I know it can take some time so I’m just going to go with the flow and let nature take it’s course. Wish us luck!

Friday 5: On Love

May 21, 2010
friday-5-on-love

So I tried to visit Friday 5 as it’s my usual haunt for my weekly meme, but it seems that the site isn’t loading. As an alternative I googled Friday 5 and found an Livejournal community with the same concept, so maybe I’ll alternate each week between the LJ community and the Friday 5 website– assuming I can actually access it. In any event, this week’s Friday 5 topic is based off the concept of love and since I’m lucky enough to know a bit about it, I figured I would participate.

  1. How does true love feel to you?
  2. What makes you feel warm inside?
  3. Have you ever been in true love?
  4. What’s your deepest wish?
  5. What’s the one thing making your inside cringe with longing?
    1. It’s not something that’s really easily described to be quite honest– but if I had to attempt to describe it, I would say it’s falling into step with another person and knowing that they’re right there with you. It’s being with that person and feeling like you’re the only two people left in the world and ultimately, it’s feeling time stop and slow because the only thing you know, the only thing you can know is what the two of you share.

    2. Waking up each morning and knowing that I have an amazing husband lying beside me.

    3. Obviously. Refer to my answer to #1.

    4. I found that wishing, not matter how hard, results in disappointment, so I’ve made a point not to wish, but to do. I see better results.

    5. Starting a family. I’m not even kidding. I want to feel a little peanut inside me and know that we made him/her. That despite all the mistakes we’ve made and all the heartache we’ve gone through, we’ve finally done something right and made something absolutely and wonderfully perfect.

Well I Don`t Really Feel Any Different

May 14, 2010
well-i-dont-really-feel-any-different

Every since Robby and I made the decision to try and get pregnant, I have been taking prenatal vitamins to help ensure that should we get pregnant my body is prepared to carry a baby to term. I haven’t really noticed much difference since I have been taking them (though I don’t think you’re supposed to) and sometimes I wonder if it’s even worth it (prenatal vitamins are not cheap!).

Despite the fact I will continue taking them, even during my pregnancy because it’s exactly what child needs to grow and develop into a healthy being. I do have to admit that the waiting portion of all this is quite depressing. Maybe I should stop being so focused and just let the cookie crumble (so to speak); thing is, I’ve never really been good at that. :(

Hold Me When I Am Here, Love Me When I Am Gone

Apr 23, 2010
hold-me-when-i-am-here-love-me-when-i-am-gone

So I got tired of the red in my last layout and decided I needed a change. I don’t plan on keeping this particular theme for very long as I already have another in the making, but until it’s finished, you get this. I’m okay with it– obviously I didn’t really do much from my previous layout, but it’s enough to hold my interest hopefully, until Tawni completes my new theme. In any event I hope you all like it, even if it’s not going to be around for long.

Well Robby and I have “officially” started trying. I finally started my period on the 12th and it ended on the 16th. Since then I’ve been counting my cycle days and yesterday I peed on a stick to see if I was ovulating which I wasn’t. :( I also peed on a stick today and still no ovulating. Bah. I’m so impatient, lol. I just want to be pregnant and be like yay, but obviously that’s far too easy, so I’ll just have to wait patiently, keep up with the OKPs1 and hopefully that one of Robby’s swimmers does it’s job. :lmao:

In other news, I have been doing a fantastic job sticking with my new schedule. Every morning I get up around six in the morning, shower, have breakfast while playing on the net for a bit and then I take the dogs for a walk and have about two hours to play around before I start work. As a result I have noticed a increase in appetite which is odd for me. I’m usually lucky if I get in one full meal of the day, but I have been really good at eating at least three if not more depending on how hungry I am. It’s a nice change of pace! Even now I’m starving and once I’m finished with work I’m going to go down and make me something to eat. Robby is so proud of me, lol!

Speaking of Robby, his sleep apnea machine came in last night and I was able to, for the first time in months, sleep in the same bed with him. It was so blissful. I had not realized how much I’d missed it. It was so great to be able to wake up next to him. To roll over and not feel emptiness. Love, love, loved it. Lol. Plus, he was able to sleep through the whole night when usually he wakes up about five times so he was much more rested. I also don’t have to worry about him possibly falling asleep as he’s driving to work anymore, which is good. It was one of my HUGE concerns and I’m glad that’s not a factor anymore. Plus it means he’s going to have a lot more energy to do things which was a HUGE problem for us and I’m glad. Especially since we’re planning on bringing a little one into the world; now he just needs to work on losing weight and we’re set. Ahh, excited!

So I just got off the phone with him and I can already tell there is a change in his attitude! I asked him how he was feeling and he said he’s good but he wants to do something– which is weird. Usually it’s tired, lol. It’s phenomenal how much one day can make a difference. I see great things ahead for us! What are some changes that you or your significant other has made which proved advantageous to your lifestyle(s)? And for those who haven’t made any changes, what are some changes you think would make a difference? What’s preventing you from making those changes?

Om another note, because I’m never sure and curious as to what you all think…
